The Story Last year, senior craftsman, Don Perrault ventured out to the Gurnet Lighthouse on his mountain bike to watch the sun rise. Upon viewing the Lighthouse he envisioned a miniature Gurnet Lighthouse which he would design to function as a tabletop lamp. He made numerous mountain bike treks out to the Lighthouse to photograph, size and dimension its proportions. After 1 year of research, development and design he has created an exact scaled replica Gurnet Lighthouse Lamp. Through his talent and ideas The Gurnet Lighthouse Lamp is now available for all that enjoy the intrigue and romance of a Lighthouse. |

| THE DESIGN The Lighthouse is handcrafted with Maple. The Lighthouse sits on a Maple base, which sculpturally resembles a green. The lighthouse is octagonal in shape and its shingles are cut to give the weathered appearance. The shingles are carved into the Maple with a custom made cutter specifically designed for the project. The Lighthouse is stained white. The top cap is hand turned on a lathe, sanded and painted red. The glass windows in the lighthouse are tinted bronze. The windows at the top of the lighthouse are scribed to resemble the actual panes of glass. The hand rail and ladder are hand made from brass painted satin black. A cloth shade is lined with rope piping at its top and bottom . |

The Gurnet Lighthouse Lamp functions as a reading lamp as well as a night-light. The First Turn of the switch illuminates the inside of the lighthouse serving as a night- light. The Second Turn of the switch operates the incandescent light bulb for reading or other room purposes while turning the night-light off. The Third Turn of the switch activates both the night-light and the incandescent light. The Fourth Turn of the switch shuts both the incandescent and night-light off. Each lighthouse Lamp built will signed and numbered by Don Perrault upon completion. |
